2012... phew

Roland Emmerich.... spell disaster n hez there for ya.... Look at his filmography.... Independence day.... Godzilla....The day after tommorrow....10,000 BC....n now 2012....all are based on disasters...Fucking disasters... Having said that I should accept, 2012 was definitely an entertaining motion picture...

Now the story is not new, if u already knew (new .. Knew wow) about the 'Noah'z ark'....The world is coming to an end n "somebody" is building a ship... Now the hero has to rescue his family from california to the ship in china.... sounds difficult ain't it... and imagine they are making an escape wen the world is actually crumbling below them.... tat sounds fun... n ya have subplots... the usual stuffs... an US president n he is a good gentleman (hahahahahaha).... an american scientist whoz trying to woo presidents daughter (in the midst of the calamity ofcourse... ya gotta have a love story man)... an Indian scientist with a weird hindi accent, who is not making it to the ship.... an american jackass who orders to start the ship when half of the population has not boarded it... a russian rich who is ready to do anything to board the ship... n then ya have the humanity stuffs.... love for fellow people... moral of civilization... ethics of mankind... so ya got action, love, sentiment, preaching n ya got your hollywood masala...

2012 has the heart n soul at the right place... but the problem is we have already seen quite a lotta disaster movies n I think thats the reason y whe are not getting engrossed with this one... We know for sure that the hero's gonna survive and that pretty much takes away the suspense with it... all we are bothered is spectacular visual effects and the action and thats in plenty here... but sometimes things go overboard and they turn funny... imagine you are driving a big plane between two crashing buildings n ya clear the top of a building by just an inch.... its not thrilling any more... we have seen this shit a lot n lot n lot of times... directors need to think new.... its moment like this ya know which tests your patience...these are the Achilles' heel of the otherwise good movie.

I really liked the humour... Yes ya heard it right... quite a number scenes were hilarious.... imagine a shiek boards the ship with 3 or 4 wives... or a rich lady comes with her puppies... Ya have star suites inside the ship which is made for rescuing people.... n half of the human civilization is not granted access to the ship... The dialogues were funnier too...

"Ya betta move fast kid, the end is near" the american chief says to the scientist whoz eyeing the presidents daughter....

"When they say not to panic, tats wen you run" the hero's view about the american politics and security

"Itz a big Plane" "Tats Russian"

n watch out for the scene wen the hero et all tries to escape from the plane using a car n the car doesn't start... the whole theatre was laughing for this one... its for such good scenes ya gotto watch this picture....

For a movie of this magnitude ya need good camera and great CG works and itz undoubtedly the best in recent times.... Earthquakes, tsunami, volcanoes everything is done to perfection... kudos to the special effects and CG team.... sound wow... you gotto see this movie in a good theatre with ample sound effects... believe me I could feel tremors inside sathyam theatre... awsome background score n sound mixing...

The movie ends in a positive note... human survive n so does humanity and love... ya are gonna see only sony products after 2012... be it laptops or televisions... so HP, LG, Samsung they are not gonna survive 2012... When there is a calamity pack ur bags for rescue n wait, guys ya take ur mach 3 and girls take your hair remover kits with ya... In this entire movie ya are gonna see clean shaven guys.. pretty wierd every body has the time to shave... n if we are really gonna be extinct by 2012 I would recommend ya married people to delay your zeal for having a baby... itz only a matter of 3 years and nothing happens we are good to go ain't we....

Its definitely a worthwatch.... 90 watts current I say.....
