To start with I had very little hope on this movie... the only reason I ended up buying tickets to nan avan illai 2 is coz I could not get tickets for any other movies... even Arya 2 was houseful today...phew....Soon I realized that I gotto lick ma wounds... this movie did amuse me... It may not be the best but definitely it isn't even remotely worst... It is a good sequel with minor and overlookable (tatz xactly wat I did - overlook) hiccups.....
Nan avan illai 2 starts exactly from where its predecesssor ended.... Jeevan is now in Canada (I think so) and he is into his routine betrayal game... this time he is doing it for a reason n that actually is a good one...n also this time he does not lay any women but manages to flick their money... So our anti hero is a kinda 'not so anti-hero' in this movie... We have four heroines who play the victims.... It would be fucking insane to rate the movies as a package (tats wat I think)... so lets chip in a deal... we analyse each story (of each women) separately n see wat we are ending up with....
Story 1 - Saki and Mahesh (Jeevan)
Saki plays the role of a Telugu's U lu te girl, spoilt by her mom, looking for a Husband-Servant combo... Jeevan palying as Mahesh a software engineer manages a cheeky entry into her heart by pretending to be 'I will do anything for ya' guy... The story starts well but looses the tempo pretty soon... the only relieving aspect is the 'Baga Unnara' song... we just laughed our ass out... If you think VijayKanth is the worst dancer ya gotto watch Jeevan, u would appreciate sincerely that Captain is an earnest dancer... Jeevan's Dance - Attaboy he rocks, he did entertain us with his slow slower slowest dance of this millenium... n though the heroine is a telugu girl we barely witness her or her family conversing in their mother tongue..... There is only a few cheppakoodadhu, chappakoodathu thrown here n there to make us believe that they are telugu people...but as I told ya u gotto overlook these flaws....
Story 2 - Nisha and Aravind
This story sucked... good plot but weakly executed... Lets not go into detail... betta grab a cigarette pack, ya could puff the story off, or u can call ya girl friend in ya vodafone 1 paise per second plan (but walk when u talk), or get into the restroom to pee profusely, or do a peeping tom on the corner seat of your row, ya could end up seeing some cuddling, fondling, kissing stuffs... However the heroine was looking better than the first one n thats a plus....
Story 3 - Deepa and Barath
Laksmi Rai plays Deepa a hot hot heroine from Tamil Nadu and Jeeva is Barath her multi millionar fan.... Its a well crafted n executed n clever plot... Jeevan plays to the gallery coz there is ample scope for performance... Did I say that Jeevan does a dual role here? I didn't? Ok ya heard it now right?
Story 4 - Maria and Vaali
Ya heard it right... Jeevan plays the role of Kavignar Vaali to woo Maria a local con girl with... Its the most hilarious plot....I believe every one of ya will love it... Laalakku dol dappi maa...
There is also a side story belonging to the Mrs Sangeetha Krishh, who plays a widowed srlankan tamil mother... The story fills the sentiment quotient but it hardly makes an impact... The director has not made an earnest attempt to potray Ellam issue and even if he had made it it wouldn't have worked big time...Also I think they have made a mockery of the Srilankan Tamil pronounciation....
Jeevan and Mayilsaamy (comes as Jeevan's side kick) have done a neat job... appreciated... I didn't find Sangeetha's performance great... but I kinda liked Lakshmi Rai and Maria galz performance....
Excerpt -
* The movie started with a musik 'Chinna kumi chan Chacha kumi chan'... felt a bit nostalgic and then remembered that the same lines come in Vettaikaaran VJ intro song... Imman and Vijay Antony had lifted the same song... Copy Catzzzzzzzzzzz
If you have no other movie to watch and ya gotto kill your fucking time give it a chance.... Its not that bad.... 65 Watts flickering bulb I say......
K bye... yes ya wanna ask something....K shoot...
